and Philippe & Carole Delouvrier

Let’s Build the Pokhare’s school together
You can’t live a perfect day without doing something for someone who will never be able to repay you.
Lewis Katz, Temple University Commencement Speech
May 15, 2014
“Philippe and Carole Delouvrier have long been, kind, generous and discreet champions of business education, cultural dialogue, and scientific research. They have dedicated some of their time and resources to United World Schools USA, a remarkable nonprofit that builds schools in some of the world’s most remote regions. Their work has brought education to children in places like Cambodia, Madagascar, Myanmar, and Nepal—in communities where schools are often nonexistent.
United World Schools builds these schools from the ground up, then runs them for five years, ensuring they are sustainable before transferring responsibility to the local educational authorities.
Philippe and Carole recently asked if I would take on a school project, and I was thrilled to say yes. I reached out to my dear friend, Yayane Verbuyt, who did not think twice and immediately committed to joining me in this effort.
Together, we’ve decided to fund a non-confessional boy and girls’ school in a small village in Pokhare, a remote village in the northeastern Sankhuwasaba district of Nepal. This area, nearly 400 kilometers from Kathmandu, is situated in a region that is both beautiful and desperately underserved.
We would be honored if you would consider joining our group of friends to fund this school. Just a few dollars can go a long way in ensuring that children a world apart from us also have access to the heart and soul of society: education.
As a Friend Of Pokhare, we kindly ask you if you would contribute $1,000 in the first year, followed by $375 per year for the next five years—a total commitment of $2,875 over six years.
Of course, you are welcome to contribute more, whether to support this school, help fund another project or contribute to United World Schools USA more broadly. Donations can be made annually or in a lump sum in the first year.
As a Supporter Of Pokhare, all donations are welcome, however small.

To keep everyone engaged, one of us will host an annual party to celebrate the progress made in the region and celebrate our friendship. It’s a chance to connect and reflect on the impact we’re making, and come together as a group.
Let’s live a perfect day together. For all these children we do not know–and that’s the purpose of this project: Merci, Gracias, Thank You, Dhan’yavāda.
